John S Asked: Will GPS work on my iPad 2 with paying for 3G?

I have an iPad 2 with 3G but I do not have a subscription with a network provider. There is an Golf app that uses GPS to track shots, will the GPS work without a 3G subscription? There are photos that I have took with the iPad 2 3G in my photo album that when I go to places show me exactly where I have took them so I'm guessing the GPS does work without a 3G subscription.

Am I right or wrong?
